Born a Musicland Kid, my father's career led us all over America and even to the UK, where I began to meet some amazing artists. Since the close of the stores, we both now work for New Folk Records to help support local artists. I play a small roll in their journey by documenting and capturing aspects of their paths.
Nolen Sellwood is such a treasure to work with. His light and wisdom expands way beyond his years. Born with natural talent and an eagerness to see the world through a different lens. He is able to weave his vision, is heart and his dreams into his gift of songwriting. I feel so thankful to have been able to capture the beginning of his journey with his art. From sitting in the studio as he record
Capturing Nolens first live performance in Maple Grove.
"April is a wonder to me. She is always there either in her work with photography and also just as a friend. I love seeing the passion she puts into her work. The ambition and spirit that resides in every aspect of her personality makes you feel valued as a client and also valued as a friend. "
With only a few days notice I recieved a call to go to Rochester and cover the Vanilla Fudge Gig. I am so thankful for the ability to hold my composure as I grew up to my mom and dad blasting their music. I love everything they perform. My job for the day was to follow Vince for a new project he is woking on. OH MY STARS what a gem of a guy.
We had a few hours before the show to get to know each other for me to learn even more about his faith, his passions and his sweet family. How fun it was to see about 3,000 people grace the Mayo field to support these legends of Rock.
"April is a wonderful girl, a deep beautiful person and a great photographer. She met the band and fit right in! Everyone was comfortable. We all had a great time. She told me her story, very heavy! Another strong believer in the healing power of Jesus."
I met JR after a friend really thought I should experience a sound bath for my own personal healing. After doing some research I learned that sound baths are scientifically proven to have so many healing benefits to your body. The day after my sound bath I noticed a significant differece and had to call New Folk Records right away to see if we could get her signed.
She had a phone call with Ken, we had meeting for coffee, and the next thing we knew we were both booked for a trip to Hawaii to photograph her album artwork. JennieRuth and I both have a deep level of faith and believe everything was a divine sign that we are on the right path.
The moment I met April, I knew that this wouldn’t be the last time I got to spend
time with her. As we began working together, I wasn’t surprised to find that we
had so much in common with our faith, travels, values, and shared joy in music
and sound that resonated with peoples souls.
While planning our artwork, April would describe the photo ideas with me. It was
then I realized that she had been list
Willie West and his wife Pat became family members the moment I met them. I immediately felt connected to his stories and feel so blessed to call them my friends.

Willie Wests Review:
" April makes you feel like family. We found her to be professional, warm and personable. She has such imagination, style, expertise and is a true artist. We are happy with our photos and are looking forward to working with her again. You will, too! Plus we love her chickens!"
The way the universe sends artists my way will never cease to amaze me. I was headed to Hawai'i to photograph JennieRuth when Mark Healey, of Badfinger told me of another artist that needed some work done for his new album. I was so excited to meet Chris as I had heard some of the mixing of his Jazz and blues album and thought that this was music the word really needs right now.
We had a really fun time as we walked the grounds of the K'hala and he told me his stories of his journey and some of the history of the island.
I feel lucky that we got a chance to meet here in Hawai'i and I'll always cherish the fine work you did.
